The Penn-Trafford Warriors are not the only players calling Warrior Stadium home this fall season. The Norwin Knights are sharing the field with P-T for the 2026-27 varsity football season.
Norwin high school is currently undergoing a renovation project on their home stadium. In previous years when P-T’s baseball and softball fields were undergoing construction, Norwin allowed P-T to use theirs.
Norwin’s renovation is scheduled to be done on July 27, 2026. Although the Warriors and Knights are sharing a field for games, Norwin has continued to have practices at their home fields.
P-T athletic director Kerry Hetrick, among other athletic department faculty, has been working to schedule the two teams’ games. The two schools have had no scheduling conflicts this year for games.
“We worked with them on the schedules so when we’re away they’re at home,” Hetrick said.
During the Norwin home games, Hetrick stated that Norwin covers the costs of the workers, security, ambulances and any other expenses that need to be covered. Hetrick stated that P-T is lending a helping hand allowing Norwin to use their field for games.
“We’re doing the right thing and being good neighbors, helping them out,” stated Hetrick.
Sharing a field has been a different experience for both teams, added Norwin football coach and P-T phys ed teacher Michael Brown. For many of the students and Brown, sharing a field for games is a first time experience.

As a coach, Brown said henever had to play home games anywhere besides their home field. Brown stated that being familiar with P-T’s field has made it easier for him personally during games.
Both the Norwin and P-T football players have been good sports about sharing a field, Brown said. The Norwin players get to play close to the school while being out of the way of construction.
“We’re grateful that Penn-Trafford allows us to have the opportunity to play home games,” Brown said.
When the stadium is complete the Warrior varsity football team will travel to Norwin for the first game of Norwin’s 2027-28 football season. P-T will be the first away team to play against Norwin on their new field next year.
