The Olivia Rodrigo concert at PPG Paints Arena was a night to remember, with never-seen-before performances and visuals that kept the crowd captivated during the entire concert on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The first thing to notice was that the stage was littered with flowers. They created an upbeat, pleasant atmosphere and stood out among stage setups that other performers have used.
The concert followed the four seasons, moving from spring, fall, winter, summer and back to spring.
Sophomore Phoebe Connors attended the concert and said, “I thought that was so cool, because it showed [Rodrigo’s] relationship and how it went through different changes, like the seasons.”
Everyone was provided a bracelet, which lit up at key moments throughout the night. This aspect helped involve the audience and make the experience unique.
A specific moment to remember was the overhead mechanism used to mimic rain during the song, “the cure.” As Rodrigo sang, the rain caused her white dress to dissolve, dramatically revealing a red corset bodysuit underneath.
Rodrigo also went up to the audience often. During “stupid song” she walked through the crowd and stood at a heart shaped platform. Furthermore, she walked next to the barricade during the encore, “expectations,” interacting with fans and making everyone feel seen.

The unraveled tour night one at Pittsburgh enchanted the audience with a breathtaking performance.
The setlist mainly featured songs from her new album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love,” but mixed in other songs from past albums and singles such as “GUTS,” “SOUR” and “serena joy.”
Night Three unexpectedly included a surprise song, replacing “begged” with “lacy.”
Freshman Maddie DelRosso said that though she enjoyed “begged,” “I like ‘lacy’ even more,” confirming she would absolutely make the trade.
Rodrigo’s live voice is phenomenal. Even when jumping around and moving across the stage, her voice remains even and clear. Her slight adjustments to songs made the concert experience that much more astonishing. Rodrigo constantly put the crowd in awe, hitting hard notes with ease and sounding just as good, if not better, than her recorded songs.
The Unraveled Tour is off to a spectacular start, and based upon her unforgettable shows at Pittsburgh, there is no doubt that she will continue to amaze fans at every stop along the way.
